Hello, dear friends! I’m so glad you’re here for Part 2 of our this Valentine’s Series: LOVE ISN’T RED.
Now, let’s get something straight—this series is not about celebrating love the way the world does. Nope! Instead, we are here to stand up for the truth that God has given us.
Have you ever noticed that people who believe the wrong things are often very loud about it? They talk, they sing, they make movies, and they post on social media all the time! Meanwhile, those who know the truth sometimes stay quiet.
But that’s changing! We will not be silent anymore. It’s time to speak up, stand strong, and live in the truth of God’s love!
Are you ready? Let’s go!

WHAT IS RED LOVE?
Have you ever heard someone say, “I love you,” but it didn’t feel right?
That’s because not all love is true love.
Some love is fake, selfish, and even dangerous. That’s what we call red love.
Red Love Is All About Feelings, Not Truth
Red love is the kind of love that only cares about feelings, emotions, and physical attraction. It’s the love that we see in movies, music, and on social media.
It’s not real love—it’s just desire.
The Bible tells us about people who fell into this kind of love, and guess what? It always ended badly!
Here are some examples:
- Amnon and Tamar (2 Samuel 13:1-15) – Amnon said he “loved” Tamar, but it was only lust. After he got what he wanted, he hated her. That’s not love!
- Shechem and Dinah (Genesis 34:1-3) – Shechem took advantage of Dinah and then tried to call it love. That’s not love either!
- The Foolish Young Man and the Immoral Woman (Proverbs 7) – The young man thought he was in love, but he was being tricked into sin.
Do you see the pattern?
Red love isn’t love at all! It’s selfish, it’s dangerous, and it always leads to pain.
That’s why we have to be careful—not everything that looks like love is really love.

HOW RED LOVE IS SPREADING IN THE WORLD
You might be wondering, “If red love is so bad, why do so many people believe in it?”
Good question!
The truth is, the world is working really hard to make red love seem normal.
Think about it:
- Movies show love as just kissing, hugging, and romance.
- Songs talk about love like it’s only about feelings and desires.
- Social media is full of pictures and videos that focus on outer beauty, not inner character.
- Even some schools and leaders tell us, “Do whatever makes you happy.”
But here’s the problem: Just because something makes you happy for a moment doesn’t mean it’s good for you.
Imagine eating only candy for a whole month. It might taste good at first, but soon, you’ll get sick!
The same thing happens with red love. It feels good at first, but in the end, it leads to heartbreak, sin, and separation from God.
That’s why we have to be careful. Just because the world says something is okay doesn’t mean God says it’s okay.
WATCH OUT FOR RED FLAGS IN THE CHURCH
Now, you might be thinking, “I go to church, so I’m safe, right?”
Well… not always.
Red love has even started creeping into the church!
Yes, you heard that right. Not everyone who comes to church is following God’s way. That’s why we need to watch out for red flags!
Here are some warning signs that someone is being influenced by red love:
1. Hanging Out With the Wrong Friends
The Bible warns us that bad company can ruin good character (1 Corinthians 15:33).
If your closest friends don’t love God or encourage sinful things, you might be in danger!
Ask yourself:
- Do my friends push me closer to God or pull me away?
- Do they respect my values, or do they pressure me to do things I know are wrong?
If you’re making friends with people who love red love, be careful!
2. Wanting to Fit In Too Much
It’s normal to want to be liked, but beware of peer pressure!
If you’re changing your values just to be popular or liked, you’re heading in the wrong direction.
The Bible tells us, “Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong.” (Exodus 23:2)
It’s okay to stand out for Jesus!
3. Watching and Listening to the Wrong Things
What we put into our minds affects our hearts.
If you’re watching inappropriate movies, listening to dirty songs, or reading romantic books that make you think about sin, your heart will start drifting from God.
The Bible says, “Stay away from every kind of evil.” (1 Thessalonians 5:22)
Be careful what you watch, listen to, and read!
4. Getting Too Close to Someone of the Opposite Sex
It’s okay to have friends, but be careful about secret emotional attachments.
If you find yourself texting, calling, or spending a lot of time alone with someone of the opposite sex, ask yourself: Is this leading me closer to God or away from Him?
True love respects boundaries!
5. Becoming Too Curious About Relationships
Are you always thinking about dating, love, and marriage?
If you feel restless, impatient, or eager to “explore love,” watch out!
The Bible warns us about people who rush into things without wisdom (Proverbs 7:11-12).
Love in God’s time is beautiful—but rushing into love too soon is dangerous!
HOW TO STAY SAFE FROM RED LOVE
Okay, so now that we know the dangers, how do we stay safe?
1. Give Your Heart Fully to Jesus
The best way to protect your heart is to let Jesus be the King of your life.
When Jesus is in charge, He will help you make the right choices.
2. Read the Bible Every Day
God’s Word is like a lamp that shows us the right path (Psalm 119:105).
If you read your Bible, you’ll be able to recognize what is true love and what is fake love.
3. Be Careful About Your Friends
Surround yourself with people who love Jesus and encourage you to do the right thing.
Good friends will help you stand strong, even when the world tries to pull you down.
4. Pray for Strength
We can’t do this alone!
Ask God to help you stay pure, strong, and wise.
He will always answer when we call on Him!
5. Remember Who You Are
You are a child of God.
You are not like the world. You are different.
So don’t let the world define love for you—let God define love for you!

So let’s stand together.
Let’s reject red love and choose God’s pure love.
And remember: Love isn’t red—love is God!
Will you choose His love today?
Will you choose His God today?
