Bible Reading Plan for Beginners
If you are new to the Bible, knowing where to start can feel overwhelming. Sixty-six books, more than a thousand chapters, and a story that spans thousands of years. This thirty-day plan gives you a gentle, guided path through the passages that matter most. It does not begin in Genesis. It begins with Jesus, because the whole Bible points to him. In one short reading a day you will meet Christ, understand the good news, learn how to follow him, and discover the foundations every believer stands on.

Who This Plan Is For
This plan is for brand-new believers, anyone exploring the Christian faith, and those who have tried to read the Bible before but got stuck. Each day is a single short passage, about ten minutes of reading, so it never feels like too much.
Tips for Completing This Plan
- Read at the same time each day so it becomes a habit. Mornings work well for most people.
- Begin each reading with a short prayer: ask God to help you understand.
- Do not rush to finish. It is better to read slowly and think than to race ahead.
- Keep a notebook. After each reading, write one thing you learned about God and one thing you can apply.
- If a passage raises a question, write it down. Ask a trusted Christian or your church.
- When you finish, move on to the Gospel of John in 21 Days or the New Testament in 90 Days.
Frequently Asked Questions
I have never read the Bible. Is this the right plan?
Yes. This plan was built for you. It starts with who Jesus is and explains the good news step by step, in short daily readings.
Why does it not start at Genesis 1?
The whole Bible points to Jesus, so we begin with him in the Gospel of John. You will reach Genesis in week four, with the foundation of who Christ is already in place.
Which Bible translation should I use?
We recommend the King James Version (KJV), but any trustworthy translation works. The important thing is to begin reading.
What do I do after these thirty days?
You will be ready for a longer plan. The Gospel of John in 21 Days, the New Testament in 90 Days, or the full Bible in a Year are all good next steps.
