A letter from Jesus - Breakthrough Bread Devotional

✉️ A Letter from Jesus (Read Slowly)

Hello, Friend
I’ve been praying you’d read this slowly.
This is not just content—it’s a calling. A moment to pause, open the door, and listen closely to what Jesus still says to His Church… and to you.

📖 Scripture of the Week

“Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
— Revelation 2–3 (repeated seven times)

✉️ The Letter Arrives…

The envelope had no return address, just His name in sharp, old-fashioned cursive—like something from a century ago.
No postmark, no stamp. Just… there. On the kitchen table, where he hadn’t left it.

Inside was a single page of thick parchment, the words written in red ink that somehow felt warm to the touch.

“I know your heart,” it began. “I see what no one else sees.”

His hands trembled as he read.
He didn’t know who sent it, but something in his soul whispered,
You’ve been seen.

📝 A Letter From Jesus

“I know your heart. I see what no one else sees.”

You think I do not see your tears? I have counted them all.
But I also see the hours spent without Me.
I have seen your altars—polished, yet prayerless.
I have watched your lamp flicker, not for lack of oil, but for lack of hunger.
You call My name with your lips, yet your life echoes another song.

My blood was not shed to make you comfortable.
It was poured out to make you clean.
I stand at the door—yes—but I will not knock forever.

Return.
Not with excuses, but with tears.
Not in pieces, but in full surrender.

The hour is late.
The battle is not coming—it is here.
Overcome now, and I will clothe you in white.
Delay, and you will forget the sound of My voice.

Do not wait for the fire to fall—shake off the slumber and become the flame.

I walk among the lampstands.
I am calling—not all, but you.

Yours always,
The Faithful and True Witness, Jesus

🔎 Reflection: A Spiritual Check-Up

In Revelation 2–3, Jesus writes seven short letters to seven churches.
Each one follows a three-part rhythm:

  • “I know…” — Jesus sees the hidden realities of our lives.
  • “But I have this against you…” — He lovingly exposes what is stealing our joy.
  • “To the one who conquers…” — He promises strength and reward for every next step of faith.

📋 Spiritual Inventory from Revelation

Read slowly and let the Holy Spirit spotlight what hits home:

CityQuestion Jesus Asks Today
Ephesus (2:1–7)Have you drifted from your first love?
Smyrna (2:8–11)Will you stay faithful under pressure?
Pergamum (2:12–17)Where are you quietly compromising?
Thyatira (2:18–29)What sin are you tolerating as “no big deal”?
Sardis (3:1–6)Are you alive or only appearing alive?
Philadelphia (3:7–13)Will you keep going when strength is small?
Laodicea (3:14–22)Have comfort and success made you lukewarm?

💔 Heart Check: One Question to Reflect On

Which of these churches reflects your spiritual condition right now?

  • Write down the one question that pierced you.
  • Put it where you’ll see it each morning.
  • Keep asking Jesus until you hear His response—and act on it.

🙏 Guided Prayer

Lord Jesus,
You see me more clearly than I see myself.
[Name the city-question that applies to you aloud.]
I receive both Your affirmation and Your loving correction.
Give me grace to conquer what hinders love,
and eyes to see the reward You promise.
Amen.
