John 12 is a chapter of both glory and sorrow. It presents a King who enters Jerusalem not as a warrior but in humility — riding a donkey, heading toward His death. Yet, it also presents the promise of resurrection, the honor of those who serve Him, and a glimpse into the heart of God’s salvation plan.
Jesus reminds us that dying to self brings fruitfulness, and being lifted up (on the cross) will draw all men to Him. The light shines for a little while longer. Are we walking in it or stumbling in the darkness?
Reflect on these words: “He that loveth his life shall lose it… but he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.” This is the true path of following Christ.
