Anyone Can Find God | Daily Breakthrough Bread | June 25, 2026

“And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.”

Acts 10:4, KJV

It is a joyful thing to remember that God can be found, though only by those who diligently seek Him.

Cornelius was such a man. He prayed. He gave. He feared God.

We are not told exactly how long Cornelius had been seeking God in this way. But we can see something beautiful: the day of his visitation came while he was still seeking God. Acts 10:30 shows that Cornelius was fasting and praying when the angel appeared to him.

This should encourage every heart that is seeking God. Keep seeking Him. Keep praying. Keep asking. Keep drawing near. One day, God will show that He saw every bit of it. He may not answer the way you expected. He may not answer at the time you planned. But no sincere cry after God is wasted.

Cornelius teaches us that God does not ignore the person who truly wants Him. But it also teaches us something more: seeking God must lead us to Christ. Cornelius was prayerful and generous, but he still needed to hear about Jesus. So God sent Peter to preach Christ to him.

So continue to seek God, but do not stop at religion. Seek Him until you find Christ more clearly. Seek Him until His Word opens to you. Seek Him until your heart is brought nearer to Jesus.

The God who remembered Cornelius will remember you too.

Reflection Questions

  1. Am I still seeking God, even when it feels like He has not answered?

  2. Has my seeking led me to Christ, or have I stopped at religion?

Prayer

Lord, thank You that You do not overlook the heart that seeks You. Keep me seeking when I hear nothing back. And do not let me stop at religion. Lead me on until I find Christ more clearly. In Jesus’ name, amen.
